Whether you're attending your first NCC Annual Training Camp or gearing up for a special camp like RDC or TSC, preparation is everything. A well-packed bag means you focus on performance — not running around looking for a spare pair of socks at 5 AM.

👕 Uniform & Ceremonial Essentials
Your NCC uniform is non-negotiable. Ideally carry two full sets so you always have a clean one ready.
- NCC Khaki Uniform (Full Sleeve, Army Wing) — at least 2 sets
- NCC T-Shirt (Sky Blue / Red depending on wing)
- NCC Tracksuit (for PT sessions)
- Beret Cap with Hackle
- NCC Cap Badges
- Arm Title / Shoulder Badges (gold embroidery)
- Name Plate
- Rank Badges (as applicable)
- Kamarband
- Jhallar (lanyard)
- Belt — Web Belt Black with Brass Buckle
- Red Sash (for ceremonial parades)
- White Gloves (ceremonial)
- Black Socks — at least 3 pairs
- DMS Boots (leather, well-polished before camp)
Pro Tip: Keep all your badges, medals, name plate, lanyard, belt, and neck scarf in a single separate pouch. The moment you take them off, they go back into that pouch — no exceptions.
👟 Footwear
- DMS Leather Boots (compulsory for uniform)
- Sports Shoes (for PT and off-duty)
- Flip-flops or sandals for inside the tent/barracks
🎒 Bag & Carrying Gear
You'll be moving gear, equipment, and personal items constantly. A sturdy, well-organized bag is essential.
- 45L Tactical Backpack — enough for 10-day camps, MOLLE attachments for extra pouches
- Small Duffle Bag — for daily essentials
- Waterproof bag cover or poncho to protect gear during rains
🧴 Personal Hygiene & Daily Use
- Soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste
- Towels (at least 2)
- Deodorant / antiperspirant (you'll need it)
- Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
- Lip balm
- Nail cutter, comb, hair ties (female cadets: hairpins, thick ties)
- Razors/shavers — check if sharp objects are permitted at your camp
- Sanitary supplies as needed
- Small mirror
🛏 Bedding & Shelter
- Sleeping bag or lightweight blanket
- Pillow or inflatable travel pillow
- Ground sheet / mat
🔦 Outdoor & Utility Gear
- LED Torch / Headlamp (for night duty or early morning PT)
- Water bottle — 1L minimum; a hydration bladder is even better for long drills
- Mess tin or eating utensils
- Paracord bracelet with compass and whistle — compact and genuinely useful
- Small multitool (14-in-1 or 18-in-1)
- Safety pins — both large and small (absolutely essential!)
- Needle and thread
📚 Stationery & Documents
- NCC ID card
- Aadhaar card / photo ID
- Joining letter / camp documents
- Notebook and pens
- Parents' contact information (written down, not just on your phone)
💊 First Aid & Medications
- Band-aids and antiseptic cream
- Pain reliever (Paracetamol)
- ORS sachets (for dehydration)
- Any personal prescription medications
- Antifungal powder (for boots-related issues)
- Insect repellent
📱 Electronics (If Permitted)
- Mobile phone + charger
- Power bank (camp schedules don't respect charging times)
- Earphones
